TWELVE CCTVs INSTALLED AT TANAH LOT TOURIST OBJECT
Denpasar, Bali Province, Oct. 4 (ANTARA) - The management of the Tanah Lot tourist object in Tabanan District, Bali Province, has installed 12 CCTVs (closed-circuit televisions) to strengthen the area's security system.
"Of the 12 CCTVs, eight were newly installed and have been functioning to anticipate an increase in the number of visitors during the Idul Fitri festivity," Tanah Lot Operations Manager I Made Sujana said here on Saturday.
The security surveillance devices have been set up in strategic places such as the gate and certain spots at the beach, he said.
The number of tourists visiting Tanah Lot is also expected to increase at end of the year.
The Tanah Lot management had also raised the number of security guards.
"Hopefully the measure will help make visitors to Tanah Lot feel safe and comfortable," he said.
During the Idul Fitri holidays, the number of tourists visiting Tanah Lot increased four- to five-fold from 3,000 on normal days.
On September 29, around 12,000 people visited Tanah Lot, and the same number on the following day.
Tanah Lot is a famous rock formation off the Indonesian island of Bali. It is the home of a famous pilgrimage temple which is one of seven sea temples on Bali's coast.
