Qatar Hosts 6th UASE Meeting

Doha, February 05 (QNA) - The Union of Arab Stock Exchanges (UASE) holds its sixth meeting in Doha on Monday. The meeting, which is being organized by Qatar Exchange (QE), will be attended by the Union member states and the UASE President as a member observer state. HE Sheikh Abdullah Bin Saud Al Thani, Governor of Qatar Central Bank (QCB) will deliver a welcome adress, while Mr. Nasser Al Shaibi, CEO of Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA), Abdullah bin Salem bin Abdullah al Salmi, Executive Vice-President of Capital Market Authority (CMA), who is also President of this session and UASE Secretary-General are scheduled to adress the opening session, according to a press release issued by QE on Sunday. Participants will discuss means of raising the professional level of companies active in this field and addressing the challenges encountered in the investment process in Arab financial markets. The meeting will witness as well the transmission of the UASE presidency from the Sultanate of Oman to the State of Qatar for one year. UASE was established in 2007 in a bid to enhance the economic development and integration in the Arab world through harmonizing the laws and regulations in force in the Arab stock markets. It consists of 11 member states, which are: Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, UAE, Jordan, Algeria, Palestine, Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco and Oman as a member observer state. (QNA)
