Police thwart attempt to abduct US family

DHAMAR, Oct 03 (Saba) –Dhamar police have foiled an attempt to abduct a US tourist family, the state-run 26sep.net has reported.

Three unidentified people tried to convince the family car driver, a Yemeni, to come
with them along with a US tourist and his family to a district in the province, but
police intervened on time.

Police launched an investigation into the incident to know reasons behind the
attempt and a hunt to find the three to bring them to justice.

Robert Jafari, 29, the commercial attaché at the US embassy in Sana'a also had a car
crash in the capital at a street leading to the Sana'a international airport and was
taken to a hospital for treatment.

Jafari has been released from the hospital after he had received a two day medical
treatment.
