FIFTH FORUM OF AZERBAIJANI YOUTH STARTS IN BAKU
Baku, 04 0ctober ,(AzerTAj)The 5th Forum of Azerbaijani Youth Friday took place at the Heydar Aliyev SportS Complex in Baku. Prior to beginning of the Forum, the participants paid tribute to the nationwide leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev, academician Zarifa Aliyeva.
The delegates also visited the Alley of Martyrs to
revere memory of the courageous sons of Azerbaijan who fell for freedom and
territorial integrity of Motherland.
Head of Humanitarian Policy Department of the President Administration Fatma
Abdullazade read out President Ilham Aliyev’s congratulatory letter to the
participants.
Addressing the event, Youth and Sport Minister Azad Rahimov said important measures
were taken to improve material and social welfare of the youth, education and sport
within three years after the 4th Forum. State Program on Education of the
Azerbaijani youth abroad for 2007-2015 was approved, and students’ stipends
increased and under the President’s decree 50 talented young men would receive AZN
200 for a year. The Minister said that 101 youth organizations had been registered
within the past three years, and totally there were over 170 registered youth
organizations in the country.
Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Intigam Babayev said that youth conferences were
held for organization of the forum in the regions of the country from June until
September of this year. 1620 delegates were selected for participation in the Forum.
As stated, the Forum involves 1533 delegates.
In his appeal to the Forum participants, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stressed
the influence of the Azerbaijani youth and solving the employment issue.
"Positive results have been achieved in the youth employment, the influence of the
youth organizations is also growing", says the letter of the President.
The Head of the State noted in his letter that Azerbaijan is one of the rare
countries of the world, where most of the population is young. The President also
stressed successful implementation of the youth policy in Azerbaijan. In his appeal,
the Head of State voiced hope that the Forum will appreciate the previous
activities, define main problems and encourage mobilization of the country's youth
for implementation of tasks, set for the future.
The Forum ended with Appeal to the Azerbaijani youth and adoption of resolution.
