M'SIAN PM, WIFE HOLD AIDILFITRI OPEN HOUSE IN KEPALA BATAS

KEPALA BATAS (Malaysia), Oct 4 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his wife Jeanne Abdullah held an Aidilfitri open house today at the Dewan Milenium here.

The open house, scheduled from 9 am to 4.30 pm, was held together with
the
Kepala Batas Umno Division. Abdullah is the member of parliament for Kepala
Batas.

Visitors began to arrive at the open house from as early as 8.30 am and
joined the queue to shake hands with Abdullah and Jeanne and extend Aidilfitri
greetings.

Various kinds of food, including nasi dagang, satay, nasi impit and
lontong, mee goreng, laksa, rendang ayam, rendang daging, lemang and ketupat,
were served at the 178 stalls set up at the hall.

The VIP visitors included Ruler of Penang Tun Abdul Rahman
Abbas and his wife Toh Puan Majimor Shariff, Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng,
Perlis Menteri Besar Dr Mat Isa Sabu, Sarawak Chief Minister Taib
Mahmud, Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce president Lim Gait Tong and
Senator Jins Shamsudin.

Earlier, Abdullah and Jeanne visited the graves of Abdullah's parents,
Kailan Hasan and Ahmad Badawi Abdullah.

Abdullah's daughter, Nori, and her husband Khairy Jamaluddin, who is MP for
Rembau, accompanied them.

All of them then called at the home of Abdullah's late mother to visit
other members of the family.
