Ashgabat, Ankara exchange experience in justice sphere

Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Feb.3/ Trend H. Hasanov / A Turkish delegation headed by Director-General of Main Department of International Law and Foreign Relations of the Justice Ministry of Turkey Fazli Dogan is on visit to Ashgabat, the Turkmen government said on Friday. The Turkish delegation was received at the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan. The parties considered the priorities of dialogue on many directions, including in the exchange of experience in the field of justice and expressed the "desire to promote the deepening of the dynamically developing Turkmen-Turkish cooperation, built on principles of confidence and mutual benefit". The conversation noted a high level of interstate relations between Turkmenistan and Turkey, linked with relations of centuries-old friendship, community of cultures and traditions of the two countries' fraternal peoples. According to the report, Dogan "expressed confidence that this meeting will give an additional impetus to realization of huge potential of bilateral cooperation". President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov at the government meeting said that "it is necessary to continue work on upgrading national legislation based on international practice, thorough study of international experience and international legal acts". Turkmenistan has registered more than 600 Turkish companies operating in such sectors as trade and investment, construction, energy, textile and manufacturing industries. The two countries are interested in the project of transportation of the Turkmen gas to Europe. In particular, the option of laying a gas pipeline across the Caspian Sea and connecting it to the transnational project "Nabucco" en route through Azerbaijan is being considered.
