Forum to Mull GCC Sport Business Sector Prospects
Doha, February 02 (QNA) - The viability of financing sports projects, the expectations of return on investments from banks and investors and opportunities in the GCC region's rapidly expanding sports sector will come under focus at the one-day Sports Business Forum to be held here on February 5 at the Grand Hyatt.
The Qatar 2022 Supreme Committee Secretary General Hassan Al Thawadi will deliver the key note address of the Forum, organized by Meed Events and held under the patronage of the Minister of Energy & Industry and Chairman and Managing Director, Qatar Petroleum HE Dr. Mohammed Saleh Al Sada.
Aspire Director General Ivan Bravo and 2012 International Ice Hockey Federation World Championship General Secretary Mika Sulin will probe the 'Role of champions in Developing Sports Industry'.
Other speakers will discuss the challenges and issues of infrastructure and project construction requirements of delivering major sports events.
Topics like designing and building sustainable, modern sports facilities for long-term use, how to integrate transport networks, developing allied infrastructure like hotels and stadium management.
Experts will also compare approaches of private and government investments as well as the role of the private sector in developing a sustainable regional sports business market.
A key topic of discussion at the forum is Considering the past, present, and future of stadium designs according to FIFA, the world football governing body and UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) regulations.
