Libyan defense minister denies reports Gaddafi loyalists control Bani Walid

BANI WALID (A.A) - Libya's defense minister had denied news reports that forces loyal to slain Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi had seized the control of Bani Walid city. "There is not even a single Gaddafi supporter or soldier in Bani Walid. The National Transitional Council has full control of the city. The 42-year-old regime has been buried deep down in history," Osama al-Juwali told the Anadolu Agency. News agencies had reported that Gaddafi supporters on Monday seized control of the entire city, 170 kilometers southwest of Tripoli. Agencies cited witnesses saying that at least four people were killed and 20 others were injured.  It took NTC militias months to gain control of the former regime's stronghold during Libya's nine-month civil war.
