Georgian delegation to attend PACE debate on Russia

Georgia, Tbilisi, Jan.26/ Trend N. Kirtskhalia / Debate on Russia will be held in the PACE on Thursday, which will be attended by the Georgian delegation led by parliamentary majority leader Petre Tsiskarishvili. Issue of holding debate on Russia was discussed in Strasbourg on Wednesday prior to the parliamentary session at the meeting of the Bureau. Prior to the debate, a special report prepared by a delegation of the Council of Europe regarding parliamentary elections in Russia held on Dec.4, will be made at the meeting. Leonid Slutsky will represent Russia in the debate. According to the Georgian Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Akaki Minashvili, the debate in the PACE is a sign of response "of the world, particularly Europe, due to the fact that one can not tolerate such elections, which were held in Russia" "This is political pressure on Russia before the presidential elections and it is support to the protest of the Russian people," Minashvili said.
