Qatar Motor Show 2012 Kicks Off January 25
Doha, January 15 (QNA) - Under the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani, the Qatar Motor Show 2012 will be held in Qatar from January 25-28 at the Doha Exhibition Cente. It is organized by Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA), Q-media events and GL events.
In a press conference held today, the organizers revealed new additions made to the show, including allowing the visitors to drive in rugged areas.
Lahdan Al Mohannadi, Head of Organizing Internal Exhibition and Exhibitions Services Department at (QTA), said that the second edition of the show saw an increase in participation, saying that a large number of trade mark brands in the auto industry confirmed their participation. This is something that reflects the international prestige the motor show has earned, he said, adding that this is a reflection of the international community's confidence in Doha's ability to hold world class events.
Advisor of the organizing committee from Q-Media Dani Al Hashem also confirmed that a number of additions have been made to the show, making it more interactive. One of the new additions, he said, was the Qatar shell booth which offers interactive car sport events. All of which are relating to shell's partnership with Formula 1's Scuderia Ferrari. There will be motor cycles on show this year as well as cars, he added.
Hashim said that the show enhances the State of Qatar's image as an auto industry hub in the Middle-East. The country attracts the world's leading car makers and specialists as well as lovers from across the region and the world.
There will be acrobatic motor cycle as well as drifting show on the second edition of Qatar Motor Show 2012. The show will also include classic motor cycles and cars on display. The second edition will also see a launch of new models, from international brands, for the first time ever this year. The latest car designs from the most lavish Italian hoses will also be put on display this year.
The second international edition of the Qatar Motor Show will be inaugurated by a prestigious and highly publicized convention, the 2nd Middle East Automotive Summit. The summit will host prominent authorities from various roots, specializing in various fields of motor production: car manufacturers, energy providers, Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) service providers, and Intelligent Mobile System (IMS) planners.
