Cypriot President Meets Qatari Culture Minister

Nicosia, January 13 (QNA) - President Demetris Christofias of the Republic of Cyprus has met at the Presidential palace HE Qatar's Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, who is currently visiting Nicosia. During the meeting, HE the Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage conveyed greetings of HH the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, HH the Deputy Emir and Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to the President of Cyprus, and their wishes to him of good health and the relations between the two countries of more progress and prosperity. From his part, President Christofias asked HE the Minister to convey his greetings and best wishes to HH the Emir and HH the Deputy Emir and Heir Apparent and his wishes for them of good health and happiness and the relations between the countries of further development. The Cypriot President stressed the depth of the good relations between the Republic of Cyprus and Qatar in all political, economic, social, sports, cultural, and arts domains Then, the meeting reviewed ways of developing bilateral relations, especially in the cultural and arts field and discussed signing of cultural cooperation agreement between the two countries. The meeting was attended by Minister of Education and Culture of Cyprus Giorgos Demosthynos , Acting Charge' d' Affaires of the Qatari Embassy in Nicosia Rashid Ibrahim Al Dihaimi, a number of senior officials at the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage and officials from the Ministry of Education and Culture of Cyprus.(QNA)
