Kazakh KazMunaiGas, Kazatomprom have new member of Board of Directors

Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan.12 / Trend E. Kosolapova/ The Head of the Kazakh National Welfare Fund Samruk-Kazyna Umirzak Shukeev has been elected as member of the Board of Directors of the National Oil and Gas Company KazMunaiGas and the National Atomic Company Kazatomprom, the Fund reported on Thursday. Shukeev was appointed as the head of Samruk-Kazyna in December 2011. Prior to this post, he served as First Deputy Prime Minister. National Welfare Fund Samruk-Kazyna is a joint stock company in Kazakhstan, which owns, in whole or in part, many important companies in the country. The state is the only shareholder of the Fund. Samruk-Kazyna controls assets worth $78 billion, or nearly 56 percent of Kazakh GDP. KazMunaiGas is the Kazakh national operator for hydrocarbon exploration, production, processing and transportation. The state owns 100 percent of the company's shares. Kazatomprom is Kazakh national operator for import and export of uranium, rare metals, nuclear fuel for power plants, special equipment and dual-purpose materials. A total of 100 percent of the Company's stock is held by the Government under the National Welfare Fund Samruk-Kazyna. Kazatomprom is the world's leading uranium producer. Do you have any feedback?
