Terrorist attacks cost Yemen more than $ 2 billion says al-Qirbi

SANA'A, Oct. 01 (Saba)- Yemeni Minster of Foreign Affairs Abu Bakr
al-Qirbi said al-Qaidah attacks and others of Islamic extremists and
tribe rebels cost his country more than $ 2 billion of economic
losses.

Al-Qirbi, who called international donors to provide Yemen great
aids, revealed his country is vulnerable to terrorism and that
economic growth levels, which are considered among the weakest in
the world, have been affected by terrorist attacks, reported state
run 26 September net.


Al-Qirbi welcomed international observers in the parliamentary
elections the country would held in April 27, 2009, adding that
Yemen would take all measures ensuring the elections' impartiality
and committing to international regulations.
