Qatar Entrepreneurs Most Upbeat About Economic Outlook: Survey

Doha, January 11 (QNA) - Qatar's entrepreneurs are significantly more upbeat about the future than their peers around the world according to a recent survey. All Qatari members of the Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO), the world's most influential organization for entrepreneurs, predicted that Qatar's economic environment would improve in the coming six months in a poll. The twice yearly survey of entrepreneurs from around the world was conducted by The Entrepreneurs' Organization (EO) and Standard Chartered Private Bank (The Private Bank). The latest survey results from their joint Global Entrepreneur Indicator research include data from a sample of more than 1,500 entrepreneurs around the world, whose businesses average US$ 17.3 Million in annual revenue and 182 employees. President of the EO Qatar Chapter, Khalifa Al Misnad said, "It's quite an unbelievable statistic considering the current state of the global economy. We're very fortunate to be a part of an unparalleled economic boom in Qatar, especially in light of the international economic and political climate. We're seeing a number of governmental initiatives that are aimed at supporting SME's in Qatar which acts as a further catalyst to boosting our optimism". With a global EO average of only 41% forecasting an improvement in their respective economies, Qatar's entrepreneurs lead the way in terms of business optimism on the national scale. Turning towards their own businesses, Qatar's entrepreneurs also lead the polls, encouragingly predicting that both the hiring of employees and access to capital would increase in six months' time. As the global economic crisis continues to bite, the positive predictions from Qatar's entrepreneurs are in stark contrast to their counterparts in rest of the world, with significant numbers predicting a fall in business lending and redundancies. The Entrepreneurs' Organization is a global network of more than 8,000 business owners in 40 countries. Founded in 1987 by a group of young entrepreneurs, EO is the catalyst that enables entrepreneurs to learn and grow from each other, leading to greater business success and an enriched personal life.
