HE Public Health Minister Hails HH the Emir's Patronizing the Opening of Cuban Hospital

Doha, January 10 (QNA) - HE Public Health Minister Abdullah Bin Khalid Al Qahtani who is also secretary general of the Supreme Council Of Health (SCH) has underlined that the patronizing and attendance of HH the emir sheikh hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani the inauguration ceremony of the cuban hospital in dukhan reflects HH the emir's constant keenness to follow up the major achievements of the development process HIS Highness leads with capability in all walks of life in qatar. In an opening address he delivered on the occasion of the inauguration of the cuban hospital in Dukhan , HE Al Qahtani has highlighted the close relations binding together Qatar and Cuba ...''Today forms a unique day for the State of Qatar and the Republic of Cuba which are enjoying close ties of joint cooperation and reciprocal respect,'' said the Public Health Minister Abdullah Bin Khalid Al Qahtani. HE the minister welcomed the specialized cuban medical cadres totaling more than 200 persons... We are waiting for these cadres ‘contributions to provide highly qualitative and advanced medical care service to our patients, said the minister. The name of Dukhan hospital was changed last November to become the Cuban hospital in recognition of the special and distinguished ties of partnership existing between the two countries , Qatar and Cuba and a reference to the specialized clinical services provided by the friendly Republic of Cuba in this hospital. Referring to the wide reputation Cuba enjoys worldwide in the field of health care systems , HE Abdullah Bin Khalid Al Qahtani said Cuba is one of the most advanced countries worldwide in this field and of the leading countries as far as health care concept focusing on patient is concerned and is exporting its medical expertise to several world countries. Elaborating HE Abdullah Al-Qahtani said that there are about 40,000 Cuban medical personnel working in more than 68 world countries as they are now transferring their unique experience to Qatar. The newly opened Cuba Hospital is a modern therapeutic facility designed to make it capable of meeting the current needs of the population of the western region of the country and which is witnessing steady growth population, but it would also has the ability to expand health services in the future to become a center to support the integrated health care, in addition to the health prevention activities and health education . HE Public Health Minister Abdullah Bin Khalid Al Qahtani who is also secretary general of the Supreme Council Of Health (SCH) also pointed out that the Cuban hospital setting under the umbrella of the Hamad Medical Corporation, the main provider of treatment services in the state, will benefit all patients from its services, "as it ensures the best levels of care treatment according to international standards". HE Public Health Minister meantime stressed that this is consistent with the quality of integrated health services system in the Hamad Medical Corporation based focusing on the patient, and through which it won the highest international certification in the field of quality of medical care. Abdullah Bin Khalid Al Qahtani underlined that these experiences if mixed with modern techniques and the support that can be provided by the State of Qatar , it would yield fruit in the form of a unique world-class experience, that benefit the patients in the state and specially the residents of the western region of the country and which is experiencing steady population growth. It is noteworthy that the State of Qatar has built and equipped the state of-the-art hospital whereas the Cuban government provided it with more than two hundred people from the highly qualified medical staff , including doctors, nurses and specialists in the areas of rehabilitation, dental and pathology and engineering of bio-medical and X-ray. The hospital Cuban is a modern facility which was not only designed to meet the current needs of the population and workforce, but also to enable expansion to provide more services to the largest number of patients, making it an important focal point to support the integration of health care services as well as prevention activities and health education to residents of the western regions of the State of of Qatar. It was to be noted that in the middle of last year, the outpatient clinics were opened at the hospital to provide laboratory services, radiology and pharmacy. (QNA)
