Son of Indian MP killed in road accident in Thailand

BANGKOK, January 7 (TNA) - A 23-year-old son of an Indian MP, Sandeep Kalita, was killed in a road accident in Hua Hin of Thailand's upper southern Prachuap Khiri Khan Province. Reports on Saturday said that the youngest son of the Indian MP, Bhubaneswar Kalita, died in a motorcycle accident Thursday evening. Sandeep was a post-graduate student in Business Administration at the School of Management Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Rangsit of Bangkok's suburban Pathum Thani Province. But AIT has relocated its students to Stamford University's Hua Hin Campus since a flooding crisis in Greater Bangkok late last year. Transport between the students' lodging and the campus is provided twice a day and Sandeep decided to hire a motorbike taxi for his transport before he was killed. His body has been taken by his Indian MP father, who is also President of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), for cremation in India. (TNA)
