Three companies interested in refinery construction in Georgia

Three foreign companies are interested in the construction of the refinery in Georgia. According to the Georgian government, at present, the issue is being technically studied. The companies will present the results of their study in 2-3 months.
The Georgian government said that the big investments are required to implement the project. It is necessary to start negotiations with Azerbaijan over the oil supply.
The Georgian "Partnership Fund" is also involved in resolving the issue. Along with private investments, it gives state deposits.
It was earlier reported that the Korean company "Daewoo Engineering" started the preliminary operations in connection with the construction of the refinery in Georgia. Korean investors in Georgian partner company explain that after the preliminary work it will be found out when and what kind of the plant will be built.
The construction of the refinery is one of the main priorities of the Georgian government. The President said that the existence of such a plant must reduce Georgia's dependence on imported oil.
