Vietnam triumph at SEASA Championship
Hanoi (VNA) - Hosts Vietnam topped the medal stable at the 32 nd Southeast Asian Shooting Championship (SEASA), which wrapped up in Hanoi on Sept. 29 .
The Vietnamese shooters won three more golds on Sept.29, raising their
number of medals to 26 - far higher than their target for the tournament.
Hoang Xuan Vinh scored 586 points in the men's 25m centre-fire pistol
event to win his third gold of the tournament. On Sept 28, Vinh triumphed in
the men's 10m air pistol individual and team events.
Meanwhile, four golds went to Vietnamese sharpshooter Vinh, Pham Cao Son
and two-time Olympian Nguyen Manh Tuong in the team event. They finished on
1,733 points.
Vietnam 's final shooting gold went to veteran Tham Thuy Hong in the
women's three-position (knee, stand, prone) rifle event. The Southeast Asian
champion scored 661.1 points.
Vietnam also won a silver and a bronze on Sept 29 in the men's skeet
events.
Mai Anh Tuan nearly won a gold after scoring 133 points - one point
behind the eventual winner Chang Chia Hao of Chinese Taipei.
His was Vietnam 's second came second in the women's contest on
Sept.28.
Tuan also won a bronze medal in the team event after the host team scored
281 points.
Vietnam , who were hoping to win 10 to 15 golds at the tournament,
finished with 26 golds, 11 silvers and four bronzes.-Enditem
