Poll: Thai people concerned about politics
BANGKOK, January 2 (TNA) - A survey conducted by Thailand’s Suan Dusit Poll reported on Monday that about 47 per cent of the total respondents are still worried about corruption, especially by politicians, followed by political turbulence in the country.
The survey, conducted among 2,114 people nationwide, found that respondents also agreed that political problems would still exist in the country in 2012.
On the economic front, up to 52.17 of the total respondents said they were worried about inflation and goods shortages in the market followed by over 30 per cent on unemployment problems or income cut by employers.
About 44 per cent of them, however, believed that the general economy in the country this year would be better than 2011 because the government was prepared to stimulate investment after the severe floods that hit the country in the last quarter.
Social problems were another concern as 53 per cent of the total respondents were worried over drugs and crime. Some 25 per cent felt uneasy about social deterioration and 21.39 per cent were worried about natural catastrophes and deforestation. (TNA)
