GUS DUR VISITS PRESIDENT AT STATE PALACE
Jakarta, Oct 1 (ANTARA) - Former president Abdurrahman Wahid who is popularly known as Gus Dur, came to the State Palace here on Wednesday to convey a post-fasting month Idul Fitri greeting to President Suslo Bambang Yudhoyono.
Gus Dur, who is Indonesia's fourth president, was the first guest to arrive at the palace to offer his wishes to the president.
Gus Dur came to the state palace alone and proceeded directly to the State Palace's room which was prepared to receive guests.
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono bowed his head when receiving Gus Dur who was on a wheel-chair and shook hand with him. Gus Dur is the chairman of the law-making body of the National Awakening Party (PKB).
After the president, Mme Ani Yudhoyono also shook hand with Gus Dur. After greeting Gus Dur, the president received the father of his daughter-in-law, Aulia Pohan, in a special room.
Not long thereafter, the president stepped out of the room to receive Vice President Jusuf Kalla and his family.
On the occasion, accompanied by Mrs Ani Yudhoyono, his second son Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, first son Edhie Baskoro and his daughter-in-law Anissa Pohan, the president received greetings from cabinet ministers and heads of state high institutions who came to offer their wishes.
