RAMADHAN'S SPIRIT MUST MAKE RI A DEVELOPED NATION : MINISTER
Jakarta, Oct 1 (ANTARA) - The minister of religious affair, Maftuh Basyuni, on his preach after the Ied pray in Istiqlal mosque here Wednesday said that the spirit of ramadhan must make Indonesia a more developed nation.
If the spirit were kept in the hearts of every moslem in Indonesia, he said, then this country's social, economy, and politic life would move on into the line of piety.
"God must have given his blessing to this country, and we will be a strong and developed nation," said the minister.
Moreover, Maftuh urged people to forgive each other without keeping grudge which eventually would cause hostility.
"A reverenge can trigger fight, it will weakened moslems' brotherhood, and also this country," he said.
Maftuh gave his speech after conducting Ied pray in the Istiqlal mosque. The occasion were also have Indonesia's president, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, his vice president, Jusuf Kalla, and several ministers and officials coming.
