Turkey welcomes every Palestinian executive

EDIRNE (A.A) - Turkish foreign minister said on Friday that Turkey would welcome every Palestinian executive who would like to visit Turkey. Ahmet Davutoglu said that Turkey would always be pleased with any visit from Gaza as a country that had helped Gaza, had backed Gaza issue, and had considered the issue as a human rights issue. "Every Palestinian will be welcomed in Turkey," Davutoglu told a joint press conference with his Romanian counterpart Teodor Basonschi in the northwestern province of Edirne. Davutoglu said Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal visited Turkey two or three months ago, and Turkey contributed to talks between Palestinian President and Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas and Meshaal. The minister said Turkey hosted Abbas in recent days, and noted that a country and a nation under occupation had the right to resist. "It is important to make this resistance with peaceful methods that includes the entire Palestinian people," Davutoglu said. Davutoglu said Hamas administration's Prime Minister Ismail Haniya was a person who received a significant support from the nation in the elections, adding that Turkey's stance was clear and Turkey would be in any process that would contribute to peace.
