Qatar Central Municipal Council Meets Ajjloun Municipality Counterpart

Amman, December 29 (QNA) - As part of their current visit to Jordan, the Qatar's Central Municipal Council (CMC) delegation led by the CMC's Chairman Saoud Abdullah Hamad Al-Henzab, on Thursday toured Ajjloun Greater Municipality and got acquainted with the Jordanian experience in modus- operandi of the municiaplities especially in organisational procedures and how best to serve the citizens in the areas under the control of municipality. Chairman of Ajjloun Municipality Eng. Maeen Al-Khasawneh briefed the Qatari CMC delegation on the services his municipality has been offering to the citizens, the organisational dealings on the ground and the development projects which had been already carried out and those under execution plus the future ones. During the visit, the two sides discussed how best to exchange experience with emphasis on Jordan's experience in municipal elections and how best to circulate it in Qatar. For her part, director of the Ajjloun Greater Municipality tourism project Ulfat As-Sammadi informed the Qatari delegation of the tourism sector in the governorate and the phases of the third tourism project in Ajjloun , the road network and the streets surrounding the Ajjloun Grand Mosque which works will start early next year. CMC's Chairman Saoud Abdullah Hamad Al-Henzab highly praised the Jordanian experience in municipal affairs aiming to establish developmental and investment projects that contribute to finding new income sources to the various municipalities in Jordan, recruting the idle manpower and reducing the rates of poverty and unemployment in Jordan to bring about the cherished development process. At the end of the meeting, Eng. Maeen Al-Khasawneh offered CMC's Chairman Saoud Abdullah Hamad Al-Henzab a shield in the name of Ajjloun Greater Municipality. Earlier Wednesday the CMC delegation met with the Greater Salt and Fuheis Municipalities Mayors Awni Kukesh and Baker Rahamna and reviewed bilateral relations and ways of bolstering them, especially in the municipal affairs and how best to expand the municipal functions as a development and cultural institution.(QNA)
