TRIPOLI (A.A) - December 29, 2011 - The former Libyan prime minister said on Thursday that the next step in Libya would be implementation of parliamentary regime. Mahmoud Jibril said all Libyan people would be proud of the new constitution that would be put to a national referendum. "The next step will be to implement parliamentary regime," Jibril told AA correspondent in an exclusive interview. Jibril underlined importance of the elections expected to take place in Libya six months later, and hoped the new government would develop national strategic plans on particularly education, health and solution of unemployment problem. "The new government will work harder for peace and prosperity of the Libyans," Jibril said. Jibril said Turkey's Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu extended great support to Libya during the transition period. "Both Erdogan and Davutoglu supported us like a brother. I thank Turkish government and Turkish people for what they have done for Libyan people," Jibril also said. On October 3, 2011, Jibril announced that he would resign from government once the country had been "liberated". On October 20, 2011, Sirte was captured and Muammar Gadhafi was killed.
