QOC Organizes Award Ceremony for Qatar's Arab Games Champions

Doha, December 28 (QNA) - Qatar Olympic Committee will organize an Award Ceremony for the national sport champions at the Sheraton hotel Tuesday, 3rd January 2012 in recognition of their commendable achievements in the 12th Arab Games held from December 9-23 in Doha, Qatar. The ceremony will be held under the patronage of HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Secretary-General of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) and Chairman of the Arab Games 2011, in attendance of AGOC members, QOC officials and honourees. The ceremony comes in light of QOC's strategy to reward national athletes who made glorious achievements for the country at the regional and international sport events. Qatari athletes won 110 medals at the 12th Arab Games 2011 including 32 gold, 38 silver and 40 bronze, bracing the country to finish fourth overall in the medal standings. (QNA)
