Flower Each Spring" Organizes Second Trip

Doha, December 25 (QNA) - The national environmental programme ''A Flower Each Spring'' has organized its second trip to Ras Matbakh in Al-Khor area as part of its 14th edition, which selected Shiran (purple orchid) flower as the theme of this year's activities. The programme runs under the patronage of Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) in coordination with Friends of the Environment Centre. About 400 students from Abdurrahman bin Jassim Preparatory Independent School, Zakrit Primary Independent School, Tariq bin Ziyad Secondary Independent School, Al-Bustan Private Kindergarten and Qatar Red Crescent (QRC) took part in the trip. Speaking to reporters on the occasion at the location of the trip, Dr. Saif Ali Al-Hajari Head of the programme and Board Chairman of Friends of the Environment Centre, praised the great benefits achieved by the A Flower Each Spring programme for the community in terms of the definition of Qatar environment plants and flowers and the country's environment in general including its birds, insects and its different elements and components. He explained that flowers of the programme, which is now celebrating its 14th edition, have been adopted as logos of many institutions and companies in Qatar and most recently the Learning Center at Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development.
