Armenians destroy monuments of cultural heritage for many years

Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 23 / Trend M. Aliyev /
Armenian nationalists have been destroying not only Azerbaijani but also other peoples' monuments and cultural heritage for many years, whose history is connected with the ancient Azerbaijani town of Irevan, political analyst Fuad Akhundov told Trend today.
According to Akhundov, Armenian leadership openly confirms this fact.
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said at the opening of "Russian Square" in Yerevan that the new square is situated where the famous Irevan fortress once stood. The comedy "Woe from Wit" by Russian writer Griboyedov was staged for the first time namely inside the Fortress.
Akhundov added that Armenian nationalists confirm both the destruction of the Azerbaijani ancient fortress, and the places having exceptional importance for the history of Russian culture.
Instead preserving and restoring these places, they savagely destroyed them.
The cynicism of the Armenian leadership's statements is that they were made in the presence of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.
Moving forward, President Sargsyan speaks about preservation of a side-altar of Saint Gregory the Enlightener (Armenian Apostolic Church Apostle) in St. Basil's Cathedral in Moscow (Cathedral of Intercession of the Holy Virgin on the Moat).
Akhundov said that the civilized countries preserve the cultural heritage of other peoples.
This is also confirmed by the Armenian president, whose country destroyed a great number of countries' monuments of material and cultural heritage belonging not only to Azerbaijani, but also other nations.
