OIC Secretary General Hails Qatar's Support for Humanitarian Efforts

Doha, December 21 (QNA) - Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has praised Qatar's support for the OIC humanitarian, relief and political efforts. In an interview with Qatari daily (al-Sharq), Prof. Ihsanoglu said that there is a great cooperation between the OIC and Qatar, which plays a key role in supporting the humanitarian work of the organization. The OIC Secretary General highlighted the resolution, adopted by the UN General Assembly yesterday, on combating religious intolerance, which he said was the result of joint efforts made by the OIC with several countries. He rejected all attempts that aim to change the historic properties of Holy Jerusalem "Al-Quds", saying that the points of interest in Jerusalem are protected by the international law and the UNESCO resolutions, but, unfortunately, Israel does not respect any international law. All members, including Palestine as it became a member of UNESCO, must to move through to stop these violations. (QNA)
