Turkish firm signs energy purchase and implementation agreement in Pakistan

ISTANBUL (A.A) - December 21, 2011 - Turkey's Zorlu Energy has signed an energy purchase and implementation agreement with Pakistani national transmission and despatch company and Pakistani alternative energy development board. A company statement said Zorlu Energy had signed the agreement regarding the wind power plant planned to become operational in Jhampir, Pakistan in 2012. The 56.4-MW power plant will generate 159 mw/hr electricity p.a when it becomes operational.  At end-2009, Zorlu Energy had five thermal power plants with a combined installed capacity of 460 MW of electricity and 192 tons/hour of steam. Zorlu Energy first made a public offering of 20% of its shares in 2000. Today 29.4% of the company's stock is traded on the Istanbul Stock Exchange. (BRC-HHK)
