Turkey to train Libya's army

ZLITAN (A.A) - December 21, 2011 - The chairman of Libya's National Transitional Council (NTC) Mustafa Abdul-Jalil said that they reached an agreement on training Libyan army in Turkey.
Speaking to AA on Wednesday, Jalil said that he had been in Turkish city Istanbul last week, and visited Libyan people who had been under treatment in Turkey after getting injured during the clashes against Gadhafi rule.
Noting that he also visited Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Jalil said that they agreed to train Libyan army in Turkey.
Meanwhile, our efforts are under way for transition to a regular army, said Jalil.
Commenting on the situation of Moammar Gadhafi's son Saif al-Islam Gadhafi who had been captured on November 19, Jalil said that Gadhafi's son's trial would be made in Libyan capital Tripoli.
He added that soldiers of Gadhafi period, who were currently in prison, would be released.
Jalil also said that gates along Tunisian border, which had been closed during the clashes, were opened a few days ago.
