OIC Chief holds meeting with Condoleezza Rice 2 New York

Rice appreciated the leadership and new vision of the OIC in
propagating moderation together with modernization in the Muslim
World.


She reiterated the deep respect of the US Administration for the
Muslim World and Islam.

She expressed her satisfaction over the development of ties of
contacts and cooperation with the OIC, which she said would hopefully
be the basis for further cooperation. The US Secretary of State
shared her optimistic view with regard to the peace efforts in the
Middle East and the need for their continuation, according to a press
release of the OIC.


The Secretary General reiterated to Rice the decisions taken by the
OIC Summits and Ministerial meetings condemning terrorism under all
its manifestations, and expressing their determination to combat this
scourge by all means, including ensuring that perpetrators of such
heinous crimes or their supporters are brought to justice.
