ID Card sufficient for entry into Georgia

ANKARA (A.A) - December 14, 2011 - Georgian State Minister for Diaspora Issues, Mirza "Papuna" Davitaia said Wednesday that passenger traffic between Turkey and Georgia increased after a protocol that made entry possible by only an ID card went into effect recently. Speaking to the AA, Minister Davitaia said that the new protocol went into effect last week and since then the citizens of the two countries could enter respective country by showing only an ID card. The protocol will positively reflect on our bilateral relations, Davitaia said. We expect the passenger traffic between Turkey and Georgia to increase dramatically, Davitaia noted. Furthermore, Davitaia pointed out, the new protocol will help boost economic and commercial relations. The more free individuals are while travelling, the more the commercial and economic relations would increase, Davitaia added.
