CHP members meet U.S. officials in Washington

WASHINGTON (A.A) - December 14, 2011 - The main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) deputy chairman Faruk Logoglu has said that Turkish-U.S. relations should be based on common norms, values and interests. CHP delegation held meetings with officials at Pentagon and U.S. Department of State in Washington on Tuesday. CHP members also attended conferences at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and German Marshall Fund. Logoglu said that Turkish-U.S. relationship was limited, but it should be comprehensive and lasting.  Turkish-U.S. ties should not be based on "strategic and model partnership" but it should be based on "permanent and sound partnership", he said.
