Turkey's foreign minister on Neo-Nazi murders

BERLIN (A.A) - December 12, 2011 - Turkish foreign minister said on Monday that considering Turks in Germany as a barbarian nation was more dangerous than every racist terrorist. Ahmet Davutoglu said that this prejudice was more dangerous than every racist terrorist, and one could fight against a terrorist or a terrorist network. "However, it is more difficult to counter such a prejudice," Davutoglu told German Der Spiegel magazine in an exclusive interview. Davutoglu said the Germans should work for adjustment and integration as much as Turks did, and the murders were against values and goals of Germany and entire Europe.  Moreover, Davutoglu said he had seen a serious economic crisis and increasing unemployment during his visits to Europe and people living in those countries generally kept immigrants responsible for such economic crisis and xenophobia occurred in such crisis. "I do not want to dramatize the incident, but I am really concerned. Politics should be prepared for such a situation," Davutoglu also said. Eight Turks and a Greek national had been killed by Neo-Nazi terrorists in several attacks in the past ten years in Germany. A recent investigation involves a newly-discovered Neo-Nazi cell which is suspected of attacking and killing nearly ten immigrants over the last decade. The Neo-Nazi cell was discovered when the German police captured a woman wanted for an armed robbery and two men involved in the robbery killed themselves.  German police also recovered a hit-list of 88 people -- including two German politicians -- to be targeted during a search into the homes of suspected members of the Neo-Nazi gang. Earlier this month, Davutoglu visited Germany, held talks with German executives regarding the murders and the investigation, and visited families of Turks killed by Neo-Nazi terrorists.
