Turkey's economy grew 8.2 percent in third quarter

ANKARA (A.A) - December 12, 2011 - Turkey's statistics authority said monday the country's economy grew 8.2 percent in the third quarter of this year. TurkStat said third quarter GDP stood at 31,029 billion Turkish liras on fixed prices.  Deseasonalized data showed the economy grew 7.7 percent in Q3 and it was also up 1.7 percent over the previous quarter.  The economy in the third quarter last year grew 5.3 percent with year-end growth reached to 9 percent in 2010.     The highest growth rate was in indirect financial brokerage services with 15.9 percent and the sector volume on fixed prices reached 3.9 billion TL.    Construction sector grew by 10.6 percent, communications sector was up by 9.7 percent whereas wholesale and retail sector grew 9.6 percent.
