      S. Korea, Russian biz groups seek cooperation
By Park Bo-ram
SEOUL, Sept. 29 (Yonhap) -- A South Korean pro-business lobby said Monday it has signed a preliminary deal in Moscow with its Russian counterpart to enhance cooperation between the two countries' small and mid-sized businesses.
Under the deal, a survey on promising economic projects between the two
countries' small and mid-sized firms will be taken by the Korean Chamber of
Commerce & Industry (KCCI) and the Chamber of Commerce & Industry of Russian
Federation, KCCI said in a statement.
Both business bodies will organize consultation meetings for the two countries'
entrepreneurs to outline how to increase exchanges.
KCCI also plans to conduct a training program in a bid to help Russian small and
mid-sized companies expand their presence overseas, the chamber said.
The deal came one day after South Korean President Lee Myung-bak started a
three-day state trip to Russia on Sunday.
The Ministry of Knowledge Economy of South Korea committed itself to supporting
the two business bodies' cooperation projects, the chamber said.
