Hakan Sukur elected as chair of Turkey-Italy Inter-parliamentary Friendship Group

ANKARA (A.A) - December 9, 2011 - An Istanbul deputy of the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party and a former soccer star, Hakan Sukur, was elected as the chair of Turkey-Italy Inter-parliamentary Friendship Group. Sukur formerly played for Italian clubs Torino, Inter and Parma and speaks Italian. Meanwhile, an AK Party deputy from Adana, Omer Celik, was elected as the chair of Turkey-USA Inter-parliamentary Friendship Group and an AK Party deputy from Samsun, Akif Cagatay Kilic, was elected as the chair of Turkey-Germany Inter-parliamentary Friendship Group.
