HE Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani Opens Media Centre for Arab Games
Doha, December 06 (QNA)- HE Secretary General of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, who is also chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Pan-Arab Games inaugurated on Tuesday afternoon the Media Centre of the 12th Arab Games hosted by Doha . The event starts on Friday and continues till Dec.13 amid wide participation of the Arab countries.
Speaking to reporters and media organs today, HE Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, said over the opening ceremony, "We are delighted with the large presence of the Arab media that will cover the activities of this tournament, and the centre, which was opened today will provide good services to all Arab journalists who are in Qatar to follow up such a great event, "adding that this year games will have excellent media coverage, since the number of journalists who will cover it are 2000 in number.
He noted that the Qatari participation in these games are good and we aspire for achieving positive results and win as many colored medals as possible as the Qatar Olympic Committee, aspires to achieve better results than the previous tournament and that the Qatari teams are well prepared to represent Qatar in an honorable way.
HE Secretary General of Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al Thani stressed that Qatar worked to organize an arab tournament to be a mini Olympic Games, including most of the sports games.
'' What distinguishes this year's tournament , HE Sheikh Saoud Said is the participation of people with special needs and through such a participation Qatar sends a message to the whole world urging the necessity of the presence of that category in all sports forums because they are an effective part of the society.
He explained that the aforesaid media centre is supplied with the best devices that ensure good media transmission to transfer all events in a high quality manner. (QNA)
