Mulla: targeting Maliki story in the Parliament explosions aim at Maliki’s evading from attending to Parliament

Baghdad (NINA) - MP from the Iraqiya Slate, Haidar Al Mulla, said "the story” of the attempt to target Prime Minister Nouri Al Maliki in the car bomb event in front of the Parliament aims at evading from coming to Parliament to discuss the security file with the representatives of the people. He told NINA "there is a request signed by 120 MPs four months ago regarding Maliki’s attending the parliament, as the Commander of the Iraqi Armed Forces, to discuss the security situation, but, Maliki refused this request." He added "when the start of US withdrawal from Iraq was announced, the whole Parliament agreed on the need to host Maliki to discuss the security file and the security implications, and preparations of the security services after the US withdrawal, and Maliki did not come." Mulla went on saying "we, therefore, believe that Maliki is keen not to attend the Parliament and evade every constitutional obligation to avoid attending to Parliament." He explained "the Baghdad Operations Command, which is directly associated with Maliki, made up a Hollywood script which intends to confuse the political scene and drag Iraq into political debates to provide a cover for Maliki not to come to show up in Parliament." He stressed the necessity of Maliki’s attending to the parliament session to question him and hold him accountable to all the security implications. The BOC indicated in its initial report on the targeting of Parliament that the car bomb was targeting Maliki. /End/
