Zibari meets with Secretary General of the OIC, Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lithuanian Foreign Undersecretary

Baghdad (NINA) - Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zibari discussed with the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, developments and changes taking place in the Arab region and its future prospects on the sidelines of the International Conference on Afghanistan held in Bonn, Germany. A statement issued by the Iraqi Foreign Ministry today said the meeting also addressed the Organization's role in promoting security and stability in the Arab region, taking into consideration the aspirations of the region’s peoples in reform and change, referring to both sides agreement on the need to coordinate positions in service of the higher interests of the Islamic peoples. Zibari also met, on the sidelines of the conference, with Ahmet Davutoglu, Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs. The meetings discussed bilateral relations and prospects for their development and considered the possibility of expansion of bilateral trade, which serves the common interests of the two peoples and countries. On the other hand, Zibari met with the Lithuanian Foreign Undersecretary, Asta Sky Skonia. The meeting discussed the possibility of developing bilateral relations and Lithuania's desire to develop its trade relations with Iraq, as well as contribution in the reconstruction process and investment. /End/
