Iran welcomes withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan

Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 5 / Trend D. Khatinoglu/ Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said Iran welcomes withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan, Mehr New Agency reported. Salehi during his speech at Bonn2 Conference in Germany emphasized ensuring Afghanistan's security by only this country's National Army. Some 85 countries attended Afghanistan conference in the former German capital, Bonn. The first Bonn Conference (Bonn 1) was held in 2001, which resulted in forming first government after Taliban collapsed. Despite Salehi's statement, on Monday Afghan President Hamid Karzai called on the international community to support Afghanistan for a further decade to secure the gains made in the country over the last 10 years. NATO troops will leave Afghanistan in 2014. Do you have any feedback? Contact our journalist at agency@trend.az
