Thai PM calls on Thais to unite for Thai King
BANGKOK, December 3 (TNA) - Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has called on all Thai people to unite and to join activities, being organised nationwide by public and private agencies, to celebrate His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej's 84th birthday on December 5.
Speaking on Saturday during her weekly address to the public, Yingluck invited people countrywide to join the grand celebrations in honour of the beloved Thai monarch, who has worked tirelessly for his subjects.
In Bangkok, Yingluck said, her government, in cooperation with various agencies, has organised many celebratory activities on this auspicious occasion from December 3-9 at Sanam Luang ceremonial ground, along Rajadamnoen Avenue, the Royal Plaza, Amporn Gardens and the Sanam Sua Pa compound.
According to the Pheu Thai premier, His Majesty the King, the world's longest reigning monarch, has also granted permission for a grand public audience by appearing at the front balcony, or "muk det", of the Chakri Throne Hall in the Grand Palace on December 5, the revered Thai monarch's exact 84th birthday, at 10:30am, to greet well-wishers from all walks of life.
