(LEAD) Three bodies believed to be from capsized Korean freighter discovered

INCHEON, Sept. 28 (Yonhap) -- Chinese rescue officers have discovered three bodies believed to be from a South Korean freighter that capsized off the coast of Macau and left its 17 crewmen missing, Coast Guard officers said Sunday.

The 4,000-ton ship Zeus was found overturned on Wednesday in waters some 60 km
southwest of the Chinese island. All the crew members -- eight Koreans, eight
Myanmarese and one Indonesian -- went missing.
Incheon Coast Guard officers in this western port city said a Chinese rescue team
has found the bodies, apparently of the crewmen, during their search in the
accident area in the Macau waters.
One body is believed to be Korean and nationalities of the discovered victims
were being identified by Korean government investigators and families of the
victims who have flown to China, they said.
The Zeus departed Vietnam on Sept. 21 for a week-long journey toward South
Korea's southeastern Masan port, carrying 6,200 tons of raw materials used in
glass making. But three days later it went missing after sending distress
signals. The freighter was found torn into two pieces and is currently docked at
the Chuanshan Islands, Guangdong Province, in the southern part of China
mainland.
