New Fingerprint Lounge Opened for Resident Professionals
Doha, December 01 (QNA) - The Criminal Evidences and Information Department (CEID) opened a new lounge at its premises at Salwa Road for residents from some professional categories to complete their fingerprint procedure.
The new facility will save the time and effort required to complete the procedures for people from these categories and others as well, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said in a media statement released here on Thursday.
The lounge can accommodate 50 visitors at one sitting. It is attended to by expert staff who can complete the fingerprint procedures using the latest equipment installed in the lounge, the ministry said and added that brochures printed in different languages make the process easy for visitors.
The CEID director Colonel Nasser Abdullah Al Mahmoud said that certain categories such as doctors, engineers, judges, university professors and media persons can take advantage of this lounge and complete their procedures quickly.
He added that the this facility does not discriminate other categories as everyone gets same
service as required by the law except that these categories have been given a separate section for to save time.
Officer at fingerprint section Lt. Mubarak Hizam Al Qahtani said the fingerprint procedures are completed within minutes whether it is at the headquarters or any service center. Once it is passed it is immediately sent to the General Directorate of Border Passports and Expatriates Affairs for further action.
The visitor can approach the Directorate on the same day to complete his residence permit procedures, he added. (QNA)
