“King Bhumibol Adulyadej: A Life's Work” Publicly Introduced

BANGKOK, November 30 (TNA) - "King Bhumibol Adulyadej:A Life's Work", said to be the most discussed book of the year, in which royal autobiography and life-long activities of the beloved Thai monarch is presented in detailed, has been publicly introduced, coinciding with His Majesty the King's 84th birthday on December 5, 2011. The English-version 384-page book with more than 400 illustrated images was publicly introduced by Thai former prime minister Anand Panyarachun, in his capacity as the chair of the book's Editorial Advisory Board, at a press conference in Bangkok on Tuesday (Nov 29), organised by the French-owned Editions Didier Millet publishing house. According to the former premier, the special “King Bhumibol Adulyadej:A Life's Work” publication will help local and international readers understand Thailand and the Kingdom's most revered monarchy properly, based on reliable and accurate facts and references. The former Thai premier said that the simplified contents of the book also comprise insights of relevant issues rarely publicized with certified information, including Thailand's lèse majesté law, the line of succession to the throne, the Crown Property Bureau and the Privy Council. Former premier Anand acknowledged that the editorial team had taken over one years in gathering information and inviting experts on Thai history to contribute reliable and deepened facts in all sides, making the book to be merits for all, including the general Thai public, politicians and state and government officials. The "King Bhumibol Adulyadej:A Life's Work" special publication, in honour of His Majesty the King, who is not only the Thai Kingdom's beloved monarch, but also the world's longest reigning monarch, is now avaialbe at leading bookstores, priced 1,200 baht each.
