RasGas Operations Projects Dept Celebrates

Doha, November 29(QNA) -The Operations Projects Department of RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) celebrated the 15 million man-hours of work without a Lost Time Incident (LTI). The feat, achieved in record time on 2 October, 2011, was particularly impressive as the Department had accomplished 10 million man-hours just nine months prior to this, a press release issued here Tuesday said. A special ceremony was organised in Ras Laffan to celebrate the achievement. Speaking at the ceremony, the RasGas Manager, Operations Group Hamad Mubarak Al Muhannadi, said: "These significant milestones can almost seem routine as it has been a short nine months since our Projects Department reached 10 million work hours. However, there is nothing routine in Brownfield projects execution as each safety milestone reinforces our commitment to safety and focus on best practices and continuous improvement." He further said that a continued excellent effort and dedication is required to maintain such outstanding performances. "I would like to express my appreciation to the Projects Department team and their contractors for their dedication and hard work that has helped us achieve this remarkable accomplishment," said Al Muhannadi. Reaching such milestones is a clear indication of the team s continued commitment to creating a safe work environment, he said. "Safety is a core value at RasGas where no job is done well unless it is done safely. I would encourage all involved to not rest on these milestones, but to continue to keep safety as a primary focus in all their activities," said Al Muhannadi. During the ceremony, key contractors involved in the achievement were presented with certificates of appreciation. In addition to that some of the Projects Department team members were presented with mementoes for their outstanding contribution towards this safety achievement. It is worth to mention that RasGas Company Limited (RasGas) is the operator of all RasGas projects and is owned by Qatar Petroleum and an affiliate of ExxonMobil RasGas Inc. RasGas operates production facilities to treat, liquefy and export liquefied natural gas (LNG) to countries across Asia, Europe and the Americas. Based in Ras Laffan, Qatar, RasGas currently has seven LNG trains in operation. (QNA)
