PM: Estonia ready to offer Turkmenistan experience in maritime transport and shipbuilding

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov received the Estonian Prime Minister Andrus Ansip, the Turkmen government said on Tuesday.
The report quoted the head of the Estonian delegation that "Estonia is ready to provide all the available experience to Turkmenistan, in particular in the sphere of up-to-date production, maritime transport and shipbuilding, as well as in information and communication technologies and networks".
"Turkmenistan forms good friendly relations, which are a reliable basis for establishing a fruitful partnership," Berdimuhammadov said.
Estonia, which has largest cargo and passenger ports of international importance, including Tallinn and Sillamae, stated about its willingness to cooperate with the Turkmen State Service of Maritime and River Transport.
In addition, Estonian companies can offer experience in upgrading the international sea port of Caspian city of Turkmenbashi and constructing new harbors, using the latest technology in the creating port infrastructure, beginning with logistics centers to shiprepair yards.
The report says that the special topic of discussions was cooperation in the fuel and energy sector given Estonia's growing demand for energy and Turkmenistan's enormous hydrocarbon potential. The Estonian delegation included representatives of companies "Esti Energy," "Repo Vabrikud", "Olympic Entertainment Group", "Port of Tallinn", as well as "Defendek".
Transport and communications sector was called among the most promising spheres of mutual interest given the transit possibilities of Turkmenistan and Estonia, which have favorable geopolitical location and developed transport infrastructure.
Turkmenistan is interested in attracting investments, development of systems of railway, road, sea and air transport, logistics, tourism, as well as in entering the Estonian market, where Turkmen producers could establish export of oil refining products and petrochemicals, and other competitive products, including textiles and carpet products
