Turkish economy minister says construction materials exports on rise

ISTANBUL (A.A) - November 23, 2011 - Turkish economy minister said on Wednesday that Turkey's exports of construction materials rose by 23 percent to 14.8 billion U.S. dollars year-on-year in the first nine months of 2011. Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan sent a message to a summit on the construction sector in Istanbul. Caglayan said in his message that exports of construction materials had been 12 billion U.S. dollars between January and September 2010 and it rose by 23 percent in the same period of this year. At least 250,000 people were working in 6,500 companies operating in the construction material sector, he added.
