PM Erdogan: Turkish nationals over 30 years of age can fulfil paid military service

ANKARA (A.A) - November 22, 2011 - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that Turkish nationals 30 years of age or older would be able to fulfil military service by paying 30,000 Turkish lira.
These citizens will pay 30,000 Turkish Lira (TL) and they will also be exempt from 21-day basic military service, said Erdogan who spoke at his Justice & Development (AK) Party group meeting in Ankara on Tuesday. (one USD equals 1.843 TL)
Erdogan noted that Turkish nationals, who worked at least three years in foreign countries, would also be able to benefit from paid military service for 10,000 euro, adding that they would be exempt from 21-day basic military service. Erdogan said that there would also be no age limit for those Turkish citizens who worked at least three years in foreign countries. , which had been earlier 38 years of age.
Erdogan said that they would present the draft law on paid military service to Turkish Parliament on Tuesday.
