FANA General Assembly's 39th Conference Kicks Off in Doha

Doha, November 21 (QNA) -Directors and chief editors of the Arab news agencies members of the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA) started here on Monday the 39th session of FANA's General Assembly and which is to run for three days. Taking part in the session are the news agencies of Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, the Kingdom of Bahrain, Palestine, Morocco, Egypt, Mauritania, Lebanon, Oman, Syria, Jordan, Sudan and Yemen. Addressing the meeting HE Minister Of Culture, Arts And Heritage Hamad Bin Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari highlighted the role FANA plays for promoting inter-arab relations for enhancing bonds between their media organs and shedding light on their key causes stressing the region's needs for media culture meeting the growing demands in all walks of life. Hailing tangible efforts exerted on part of the FANA to update joint action of the arab news agencies, HE DR. al kuwari pointed out that the role of the arab news agencies has not been restricted to supply the citizen with news and information , but also to provide opportunities for education and enlightenment and boosting of professional solidarity rules through training courses and seminars these agencies organise to keep abreast with the mammoth development in media organs worldwide. HE Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Hamad Bin Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari called for reconsidering the so-called media concrete facts and working out plans and programmes for a well-awarded media depending on sound bases and options interacting with such a new reality and setting toward more wider and creative horizons. HE Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Hamad Bin Abdulaziz Al-Kuwari also called for keeping abreast with the political and scientific developments in this era which is characterized with multimedia’s taking into account however the youth experiment worldwide and exploit it for their own interests. '' Such a privilege requires creativity in dealing to produce more giving’s and serve the goals of the nation, HE Al Kuwari said noting that ignoring such goals and running in the traditional course would make us playing outside the world''. Elaborating HE Al Kuwari said the arab youth have used multimedias and unify their efforts to counter despotism and called upon FANA to benefit from such a youthful experiment , absorb it and out into consideration to make action more serious. Addressing the opening session of the conference, QATAR NEWS AGENCY (QNA) director general ahmed saad al-buainain who is also president of FANA welcome the audience and voiced pleasure for qatar's hosting of such a conference for the second time. al buainain highlighted the due keenness of the state officials to support such media events in all their forms of joint arab action and professional values as being a mirror reflecting the progress which our arab media organs have achieved towards interntional arena and media forums. The new FANA president al buainain also praised the accomplishments FANA achieved in the past period under the chairmanship of the Egyptian Middle East News Agency (MENA) Board of Directors and Editor In -Chief Adel Abdulaziz who provided ample opportunities to benefit from the MENA's rich experiences and wide relations to achieve to attain whatever recommendations adopted during the 37th and 38th sessions.
